Main research interests

a) family transitions, with particular focus on relations between generations

b) social and cultural transformations of the family; variability of family forms

c) planning policies regarding family; transformation and pluralisation of the traditional welfare system on the basis of the principle of subsidiarity

d) family associations, as a social formation who can take part in the production of well-being and who can empower the family as a subject with a specific social identity

e) good practices in the social services area, as relational services that produce social capital.

Research experience

1992-1993: I participated to an interdisciplinary quantitative research on the family relationships of adolescents.

1997-1998: I coordinated with D. Bramanti a quantitative research on 600 young families living in Lombardy.

2000 al 2004: I coordinated an action-research on the “Regional Policy for the family” (l.r. 23/99) in Lombardy.

2004: I coordinated a qualitative research on the organisms for the representation of the family in Italy, with the commitment of the National Observatory on the Family

2005: I coordinated a quanti-qualitative research on informal groups and family associations in Veneto (Verona and Padua).

2005: I coordinated a qualitative research on the Centres for the aggregation of young people in Milan.

2005-2007: I participated to a national research “Family needs and personalised services: good practices of partnership among public, private and third sector” and I realized the case study on the professional family child fostering in the Province of Milan.

2008-2009: I coordinated a quanti-qualitative research on residential care for out-of-home children and youths in Lombardy
